Purpose In Life Page

Have you ever felt that there was more to life than what you were going through?

Have you ever wondered what your purpose in life is?

I was in the same place as you, but in 2000 that emptiness and wondering changed. It was a good thing it changed when it did because without that life changing revelation, I would be in a seriously bad place right now and some people I love, and have loved, would have been seriously hurt by my actions. But this page isn't about me, it is about you.

We are relational beings. From the time we are born we need people in our life. We need physical touch, companionship, friendship, and the knowledge that we are loved. Even though some of us have this need to have time alone, being alone isn't why we were put on this earth.

Ironically, even though we need personal relationships, there is no earthly relationship that can fill that void inside you and me. So if you think another person can make you happy, your wrong. Another person can make you very miserable, but no one on this earth can make you happy....... Let what I just said sink in before you read further.

As you read this, I hope you do so with an open mind, and an open heart. I am not trying to sell you anything, and I have nothing worldly to gain by telling you this. As I stated in my About Page, I want you to have the eternal relationship that we are all searching for.

We were Created to have fellowship with The Creator, and when we don't have that relationship there is a deep void left inside. Nothing on earth will fill that void. Money won't fill it, earthly relationships won't fill it, sports won't fill it, sex won't fill it, alcohol won't fill it, racing won't fill it. Nothing of this world will fill that void; ever.

I know that what I am saying to you may go against everything you may have learned in school, or in the news, or at the movies, or by someone in politics or academia, but the fact is this world and everything in it was CREATED. We did not crawl out of the sea as some slimy organism and evolve into a human. That scenario has been proven by leading scientists to be absolutely false, and not only mathematically impossible, but also physically and chemically impossible given the elements that are needed to have life at the time the supporters of Darwin claim life evolved. Don't believe me? Get the DVD video - Expelled: No intelligence allowed. or the book or video - The Case for a Creator. There are many more sources available, and later I will have a page that will have links to many more of these sources.

If you are still reading this and I hope you are, please understand that I am not trying to condemn you. I was in the same place as you, but I have learned, and have EXPERIENCED the truth, and that truth has set me free, and it can set you free as well.

The only way to fill that void inside is to have a relationship with God the Creator. He created us to have a relationship with Him, and not only did he want us to have a relationship with Him, but He also wanted us to tell others what their purpose in life is, and how to have a relationship with Him.

Maybe you think that you are not good enough, or that you have done too many of the wrong things in life, or that you are too unholy. Maybe you believe that there is no way a loving, and pure, and Holy God could ever want to have a relationship with you. But just like a good earthly father, no matter what our children do, and no matter how disappointed we may become with our children, the fact is they are still our children and we will always love them. Your Heavenly Father is greater and more loving than any earthly father could ever be. He is more forgiving and gives more grace than anyone on earth ever could.

God created the heavens and the earth, and then He created us. Since God is omniscient (all knowing), omnipotent (all powerful), and omnipresent (in all places) He knew our walk with Him would be severed by our free will and our sin nature. We all have sinned and were separated from God. Since God the Creator is Holy and Pure, and can not let sin near him as that would be an abomination, how do we get reconciled back to God the Creator? The only way to be reconciled with God the Creator, God our Father, is to have someone pure and without sin take our place. Nothing we do can cover our sin. We can not be good enough. We can not do enough good works, nor can we help others enough to cover our sin. But since we all have a sin nature, and our life blood is full of sin from the moment of conception, how can there be someone pure and without sin to take our place?

Fortunately for us God had a contingency plan to make sure we could be reconciled with Him after we sinned and rebelled against Him. God implemented that plan from the beginning when He created the universe. God gave us a gift, and all we need to do is accept the gift He gave us.

What means did God give us to be reconciled to Him? What gift do we need to accept?

The means God gave us to be reconciled to Him was the shedding of innocent and pure blood that He provided us through one person. This shedding of innocent and pure blood permanently washes away our sin. The gift we need to accept, was the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ who came to this earth, was born of a virgin, conceived through the Holy Spirit, was crucified, and then rose from the dead and sits at the right hand of God the Father. God had this planned from the beginning, and if you want to see proof that He planned for our salvation from the beginning of time in a simple and easily understood manner, then watch the video - The Star of Bethlehem. or visit

So what do we have to do to accept the gift God gave us, and then bridge the gap that separates us from God the Father? How do we get to know Him?

All we have to do is believe it in our hearts and then speak it with our mouth.

All we need to do is believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Believe Jesus came to earth as man, was born of the Virgin, was crucified and died on the cross. Believe that Jesus was raised from the dead and sits at the right hand of the Father. If we believe this in our heart and speak it with our mouth, we are forgiven and cleansed.

Jesus said: "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." - John 14:6

Jesus said: "Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven." - Matthew 10:32

It is written: " That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." - Romans 10:9-10

If you understand that you are a sinner and in need of salvation through Jesus Christ, saying a simple prayer; some call the sinner's prayer, is simply a way of declaring to God that you are relying on Jesus Christ as your Savior. There are no "magical" words that result in salvation. It is only faith in Jesus' death and resurrection that can save us. You need not pray (talk) to God in some unnatural manner. Talk to Him like you would talk to your earthly father.

Here is a simple prayer of salvation you can pray to God:

"Father God, you are the one and only God of the universe and I thank you for loving me and having a plan so that I could be reconciled back to you.

Father God, I come to You in the name of Jesus Christ. I confess that I have disobeyed your commandments and acknowledge to you that I am a sinner. I know that I deserve the consequences of my sin, and I am sorry for my sins and the life that I have lived. I ask you to forgive me for these sins.

Your Word says that with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. I do that now. I believe in my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and is the Son of God. I believe that Jesus was born of the Virgin, lived on this earth as a man, and then died on the cross. I believe that Jesus' blood was shed for my sins and that God raised Jesus from the dead and now sits at the right hand of God the Father.

I now ask Jesus to come into my heart. Jesus, be my Savior. Jesus, be the Lord over my life. I will do my best to obey your teachings as recorded in the Bible. This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior and according to His Word, I know I am saved.

Thank you Jesus for dying for me and giving me eternal life. In Jesus name I pray.

Saying this simple prayer begins our relationship with God the Creator, his son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit who lives with us, in us. The best part is that if you believe in your heart what you just prayed, then your name has been written in the Lamb's Book Of Life and you now have a place in Heaven for eternity. A room in God's mansion has been prepared for you. Satan and Hell has lost out again, and one less person will not have to suffer for eternity.

I hope you now understand that this is not about Religion, it is about Relationship. In order to be invited into someone's home, we must first know that person. In order to ask something from someone we need to know them. All too often we pray to God that He will deliver us out of some trouble, but if we don't know Him, why would He be inclined to help us.

Praying the prayer of salvation similar to the one I have written above is the only time God will answer a prayer made by someone He does not have a relationship with. Asking God for His forgiveness, and confessing Jesus with your mouth, opens the doors of Heaven and the power of God to you.

I have had more fun, excitement, and been more blessed in everything I do since I came to Christ; you can too.

I will have more information for you soon. In the meantime, I suggest you do two things. 1) Read the Bible. The book of John in the New Testament is a good place to start for someone just starting this journey. 2) Find a good Bible teaching Church so you can learn and be supported by those who know God's word. It is amazing what you can learn from other believers.

On my Favorite Links Page there is a link to a really great family Bible teaching, non-denominational Church that I attend in Portage, Michigan. If you are in the area and interested in visiting this Church I know you won't be disappointed. The Pastors have a great message and do it with a sense of humor. The music is great and if you have kids they have a wonderful children's ministry.

But even if you decide not to try out the Church on my links page, I still hope you find a good Church that you and your family are comfortable with, and one that will allow you to grow so that you can truly know your purpose in life.
